News from BSF

Boston Schools Fund (BSF) is thrilled to help create the opportunity for hundreds of more children in Boston to attend a high-quality school in Boston Public Schools (BPS).  We have two big updates.

First, joining the cohort we announced in November, 6 East Boston elementary schools will add a sixth grade next fall.

With a commitment of over $250,000, BSF is helping to create over 200 more high-quality seats in East Boston and to provide East Boston families a true PK-12 pathway in their neighborhood.

The Otis, PJ Kennedy, Adams, O’Donnell, Guild, and Bradley together serve over 1,000 English Language Learners, supporting many of Boston’s newest residents with outstanding academics and family and community engagement.

We are also excited to announce we are deepening our partnership with the Channing Elementary School in Hyde Park.  In addition to supporting their addition of a sixth grade next year, we are committing up to $330,000 over the next three years to sustain the school’s remarkable turnaround and growth.  At scale, the Channing will provide nearly 300 BPS high-quality seats in a school known for its award-winning literacy program, welcoming school culture, and integration of art and science into core instruction.
