News from BSF

Boston Schools Fund (BSF) is thrilled to help create the opportunity for hundreds of more children in Boston to attend a high-quality school in Boston Public Schools (BPS). With a growing team and growing impact, BSF is committed to creating opportunity and access to high-quality schools for all of Boston’s children and families

Six BPS schools will add a sixth grade next fall. Our grants and staff have supported a deep planning process with these schools, and will provide resources all the way up to the first day in September 2020.

  • Both the Nathan Hale and the JP Manning have been recognized by Massachusetts as “Schools of Recognition” for their outstanding achievement.

  • The dramatic growth at the Channing has resulted in the school leaving turnaround status.

  • This past year, the Conley was one of the only schools in the city to show substantial gains for all student subgroups in math.

  • Just this past week, two of these schools, the Harvard-Kent and the Kenny, were finalists for the annual EdVestors School on the Move Prize.

These BPS schools meet the diverse needs of all the children in this city - serving over 1,000 high-need students and offering individual support for all learners, ranging from our newest Bostonians learning English, to students with emotional impairments, to students on the autism spectrum, and students with intellectual impairments.
